Charles T. Leonard

Charles T. "Dutchy" Leonard, 92, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Virginia S. (Montgomery) Leonard and the late Alice I. (Wereska) Leonard. Born in Brockton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1942. Mr. Leonard was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and a Veteran of World War II. He was an electrician with the Local 223 in Brockton for over 20 years before retiring at age 68. He was very active at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Stoughton. He is a member of the Stoughton High School Athletic Hall of Fame and played semi-pro football with the Trojans football team.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Leonard was the father of Charles J. "Chuck" Leonard and his wife Ann Marie of Stoughton, Cheryl Nicholson and her husband Richard of Acushnet and the late Charlene Tolle. He was the father-in-law of Michael Tolle of Crownsville, MD. He was the grandfather of Eric Leonard and his wife Amy, Jason Leonard and his wife Jennifer and Shawn Leonard and his fiance Shayna and great-grandfather of Zachary Leonard. He was the brother of Dorothy Daly of Nashua, NH, Gertrude Leary of Plymouth, Earl Leonard of Lake Placid, FL, Barbara Leonard and Roy Leonard both of Stoughton and the late Melvin Leonard. He is also survived by his stepsons, Alan Montgomery of Stoughton and James Montgomery and family of Sanford, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Stoughton on Tuesday, August 18 at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
