Charles W. Berry, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Eileen T. (Sheridan) Berry to whom he was married to for 55 years. Born in Hillside, NJ, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Berry) Berry. His early years of growing up were spent in Dorchester before moving to Stoughton at the age of nine. After graduating from Stoughton High School in 1959, he served in the U.S. Army and Army reserves.
Charlie was a truck driver in which he owned and operated his own truck. He also held licenses to run heavy equipment in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Later in life he went back to school and obtained a First Class Fireman license. He applied this license in jobs involving running and maintaining boilers.
In addition to his wife, Charlie was the loving father of Donna D. Berry of Bridgewater, Janice R. Berry of Edgewater, FL and the late Christine M. Berry. He was the beloved grandfather to Koren (Westberg) McDonald and her husband Ty and Jared Westberg all of Edgewater, FL. He was the brother of John Berry and his wife Dot of Elmira, NY and the late James Berry. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Romelle Berry of Easton as well as many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dear friends, Mike and Deb Ferriera.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, December 2 at 4 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 2-4 PM. Interment will be private.
