Charles J. "Chubby" Belliveau, 89, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, November 2, 2014, at his home after a period of failing health. He was husband of 63 years to Margaret P. "Peggy" (Reilly) Belliveau. Born and raised in South Boston, he was a graduate of South Boston High School. Mr. Belliveau was a WWII Veteran of the US Army where he earned the Purple Heart. He worked as a Custodian in the Boston School System for over 35 years retiring 25 years ago. He served as President of the Boston School Custodian Association for many years. He was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton and was a member of the Stoughton Senior Serenaders.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, the late Mark A. Belliveau and his wife Gail of CA, John P. "Jack" Belliveau of Stoughton, David C. Belliveau and his wife Paula of NH, Paula J. McNulty and her husband David of Franklin and Gayle M. Belliveau of N. Attleboro. He was the Grandfather to Sean and Justin Belliveau, Luke and Paige Belliveau, Sarah, Emily, Colin and Ryan McNulty. He was the brother of Agnes Fairweather of Carver and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Anthony's Free Market, 2 Park Place, Stoughton MA 02072.
