Charlene F. (Leonard) Tolle, 64, a former resident of Stoughton, died Nov. 8, at her home in Maryland, after a long valiant battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael F. Tolle and the daughter of Charles T. Leonard of Stoughton and the late Alice (Wereska) Leonard. Raised and educated in Stoughton, she was a resident of Maryland since 1987. Mrs. Tolle was married in 1965 and for the first 22 years of her marriage she set the standard for a "Mission First" Navy wife, accompanying her husband on tours of duty in Germany, Japan, California, Alaska, Maine and Maryland. After her husband's retirement from the Navy in 1987, she settled in Laurel, MD and was an active contributor to the ministries of St. Phillip's Episcopal Church in Laurel, MD. In her free time, she enjoyed quilt making and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Michael F. Tolle; her father, Charles T. Leonard and his wife Virginia of Stoughton. She was the sister of Chuck Leonard and his wife AnnMarie of Stoughton, Cheryl Nicholson and her husband Richard of Acushnet and her nephews, Eric, Jason and Shawn Leonard. She was predeceased by her mother Alice (Wereska) Leonard.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Her Life will take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner St., Stoughton, on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to Gilchrist Hospice Care, 5537 Twin Knolls Road, Suite 433, Columbia, MD 21045, or St. Phillips Nave & Roof Fund, St Phillip's Episcopal Church, 522 Main St., Laurel, MD 20707, would be appreciated.
