Cecelia A. (Hufnagle) Ledwith, 90, died Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a period of declining health. She was the wife of 50 years of the late Francis X. Ledwith. Born, raised and educated in Jamaica Plain, she was a graduate of Boston Schools. She was also a graduate of Boston Normal Teachers College. Mrs. Ledwith was a resident of Stoughton for over 60 years. She was a beloved First Grade Teacher at the Gibbons School in Stoughton for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. Mrs. Ledwith was a member of the Irish Cultural Center in Canton and the Stoughton Senior Center Quilting Club. She loved being Irish and enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland. In her free time, she enjoyed camping with her family, cooking for the holidays, dogs and following Noel Henry's Irish Band. Above all, she loved spending time with her beloved family.
Mrs. Ledwith was the mother of Frank G. Ledwith of Marion, Robert E. Ledwith of Cummaquid, Michael D. Ledwith of Chelmsford and Susan M. McKenna of Sandwich. She was the loving grandmother of Timothy Ledwith, Amanda Campos, Nathaniel Ledwith, Katelyn Ledwith, Ian McKenna and the late Craig Ledwith and great-grandmother of Eva. She was the sister of Catherine Schuko of Stoughton and the late Mary Hufnagle. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Tuesday, January 22 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Milton Cemetery. Donations in Cecelia's memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
