Catherine T. "Kay" (Hufnagle) Schuko

Catherine T. “Kay” (Hufnagle) Schuko, 97, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Sunday, December 1, 2024. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Schuko. Daughter of the late John and Cecelia (Carey) Hufnagle, she was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain. She was a graduate of Massachusetts Women’s High School in Roxbury and Household Nursing School in Boston. She also took clinicals at Boston City Hospital. Kay resided in Stoughton since 1959. She was a licensed practical nurse at Massachusetts Women’s Hospital for several years before working at Norfolk Nursing Home in Stoughton for 23 years until her retirement in 1992. Kay was a Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton for many years. She was devoted to her church and its youth programs, running the Stoughton CYO from 1971-1974. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Europe.

Kay was the mother of Paul G. Schuko of Stoughton, Anthony J. Schuko, Jr. of Easton, John J. “Jack” Schuko and his wife Gail of Norton, Daniel C. Schuko and his wife Diana of Freetown and the late Stephen W. Schuko and his surviving wife Stacie of Dedham. She was the sister of the late Mary Hufnagle and Cecelia Ledwith. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, December 12 from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held from the Funeral Home on Friday, December 13 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
