Catherine G. "Kay" (MacLellan) Giblin, 84, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, February 23, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Giblin. Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. She was employed with Morse Shoe Co., in Canton, for more than 20 years, retiring in 1993. Kay was a member of the Minerva Lodge and a communicant and volunteer at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed dining out, traveling and spending time with her family.
She was the mother of Ann Marie Peters and her husband Jay of Stoughton, Elaine M. Meagher and her husband Rick of Stoughton and Joan M. Giblin of Canton. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sister Theresa A. Keilty and her brother Alexander MacLellan. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Tara M. Barrows and her husband Zachary, Jill M. Peters and Michael T. Meagher and 1 great-grandchild, Calvin F. Barrows and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be take place in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Friday, March 1 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton prior to the Mass from 9-10 AM. Interment at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
