Catherine B. Carey

Catherine B. (Ryan) Carey, 99, died Friday, July 13, at the Providence Care Center in Lenox, MA after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Michael B. Carey. Born and educated in Ireland, she came to the US in 1926 and settled in Dorchester where she lived until moving to Stoughton 10 years ago. Mrs. Carey was a homemaker. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Margaret M. Kelley and her husband the late Martin Kelley and Catherine P. MacPherson and her husband William all of Marco Island, FL, John P. Carey and his wife Katherine of Millis and Marco Island, FL, Frances P. Conaghan and her husband Charles of Pittsfield and Nancy E. McElaney and her husband Edward of Stoughton. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, July 19 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Gregory's Church, Dorchester at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery, Milton. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Gregory's Church, 2201 Dorchester Ave, Dorchester, MA 02124.
