Carolyn R. (Boggs) Manson, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Goddard Nursing & Rehab. Center in Stoughton on Friday, January 11 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Albert R. Manson. Born and raised in Worcester, she was a graduate of Worcester schools. Mrs. Manson was a graduate of Boston University, Class of 1949 and received a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Boston University as well as a Master's Degree in Guidance from Bridgewater State College. She was a teacher of business at Walpole High School for 30 years before retiring in 1991. She was also a secretary for the Salvation Army in Boston for 8 years until retiring in 1990. Mrs. Manson was a member of the Mass. Teachers Assn., National Teachers Assn. and the Mass., Eastern and National Business Education Assn. She was a member of the Delta Pi Epsilon.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Manson is survived by her son, Steven G. Manson of Andover, as well as her grandchildren, Gregory and Elizabeth Manson and her siblings, George A. Boggs of Worcester and Priscilla Killian of Acton.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, January 15 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. Donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to Salvation Army, 281 N. Main St., Brockton, MA 02301.
