Carmine P. Solimine

Carmine P. Solimine, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Morton Hospital in Taunton on Monday, July 7. He was the husband of the late Lucy (DiDonato) Solimine. Born and educated in the North End, he resided in Stoughton for the past 36 years. Mr. Solimine was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was a Master Sergeant in the National Guard for 37 years, working in Framingham, Ft. Devens and Otis Air Force Base. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Stoughton and cooked there on weekends. He was also a member of the VFW in the North End and Knights of Columbus in Stoughton.

Mr. Solimine is survived by his children, Emmy Hornocker of Brockton, Geri Cecon on CT, Theresa Butler of Avon and Mario Solimine of Stoughton. He was the brother of Salvatore Solimine of Medford and the late Mario, Grace, Frank "Sully" and Lillian Solimine. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 11 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Carmine's name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
