Carmela N. (Nuovo) Denneno, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Milton Hospital on Friday, July 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Frank D. Denneno. Daughter of the late Joseph Nuovo and Mary B. (Patterson) McVey, she was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for the past 65 years. Carmela was the owner of Denneno's Pizza, working tirelessly at the restaurant for 62 years. She was a member of the Daughters of Italy Minerva Lodge 1846 in Stoughton. She enjoyed painting, knitting and traveling, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Carmela is survived by her children, Mark D. Denneno and his wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, Robin A. Cedrone and her husband Robert, Steven F. Denneno, David A. Denneno and his wife Mary and Peter J. Denneno and his wife Patrice all of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Richard and Angela Cedrone and Alex, Trent, Victoria, Evan, Emily, Noah and Isabella Denneno. She was the sister of Marie Federico of Pembroke and the late John Nuovo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Wednesday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours will be held at the church on Tuesday from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carmela's memory may be made to the Minerva Lodge for the Daughters of Italy Scholarship Fund, 4 Frank Rd., Stoughton, MA 02072.
