Carleton John Anderson was born on December 4, 1932 to the late Carleton Douglas and Grace Anderson and died at New England Sinai Satelite Hospital, Boston on August 21.
Carleton grew up in Roxbury and attended Boston Public Schools. In Junior High School Carleton was a member of the Jamica Plain Track Team. He graduated in 1953 and started his journey as a working member of society. He retired in 1970 from the Massachusetts Transit Authority after 32 years.
In his early years Carleton attended St. Joseph Parish and was active in the Cub Scouts. In 1972 he was awarded the St. George Medal, the highest award given to a non scout leader.
In 1976 Carleton and his wife Barbara moved to Stoughton where he was able to enjoy his favorite hobbies of growing fruits and vegetables, bowling and other community activities. He also enjoyed traveling, photography and reading to second graders of the William E. Russell School in Dorchester.
Carleton was preceded by two sisters Marilyn Armstead of Roxbury and Sandra Adams of Pembroke. Celebrating his legacy are his wife Barbara, a host of nieces and nephews and their spouses, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours to be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte 27) Stoughton, prior to Mass from 9-10 AM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Morgan Memorial, 1010 Harrison Ave.,
