C. Robert Ness

C. Robert Ness, 89, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Copley Nursing Home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Frances M. (Casey) Ness. Born and raised in Brockton, he attended Brockton High School. He was a Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Ness was a resident of Stoughton for over 55 years and worked in auto sales for several local dealerships. In his free time Bob enjoyed cars, motorcycles, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ness is survived by his four children, Robert G. Ness and his wife Beverly, Bradley S. Ness and his wife Kathryn and Cynthia L. Powers all of Plymouth and Paul D. Ness and his wife Rose of Peabody. Bob was also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. He was the brother of Barbara Smith of Houston, TX and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Interment with military honors will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
