Bradford Orr Wilbar passed away peacefully at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Tuesday, May 5 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Helen "Sherry" (Robinson) Wilbar and his three sons, Shane and his wife Ellen of Foxboro, Glen and his wife Kim and Adam and his wife Nancy all of Stoughton. Brad also leaves his seven grandchildren that he loved dearly, Eric, Dylan, Calie, Sierra, Holly, Olivia and Dakota.
Born November 24, 1942, he was a son of the late Shepard and Frances (Orr) Wilbar of Stoughton where he grew up with his brother Shep and cousin Linda (Bishop) Weiler. He is also survived by his aunt Louise Orr, many nieces and nephews. Brad was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1960. He retired from the Stoughton Fire Dept. after 34 years of service in 1998.
He was a member of the Mattamiscontis Hunting Club and the CW Welch Preserve. Brad loved the great outdoors, traveling out west, riding his motorcycle, spending time in Maine, planting his garden in the spring and enjoyed his mini-farm with its chickens, pigs, dogs and his horse "Red." Brad cherished the times spent with his family and many dear friends and most recently a trip to Florida with his other "brother" Ken Tracy.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 9 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at the First Parish Universalist Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, Stoughton.
