Bradford C. Russell, 72, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. He was the husband of Carol A. (McMann) Russell. Born in Stoughton, he was raised and educated in Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School Class of 1959. Mr. Russell worked as a baker at Fernandes and Roche Bros. and also as a maintenance man at Brookfield Engineering. He was a volunteer for the Stoughton Senior Center and the First Parish Universalist Church, where he was also the former past president, a member of the board of trustees, a member of the church choir and the 20/40 Club. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, traveling, singing with the senior serenaders and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Linda L. Stephansky and her husband David of Stoughton, Paula J. Empey and her husband Mark of NY, Brenda A. Martin and her husband Jared of Pembroke and Sandra M. Leonard and her husband Sean of PA. He was the grandfather of Robert Stephansky, Jillian Stephansky, Sean Empey and Julie Leonard. He was the brother of Richard Russell of Canton and the late Charles Russell and Marjorie Hayes. Mr. Russell is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Charles A. Russell and Gertrude (Capen) Russell.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Parish Universalist Church, 790 Washington St., Stoughton, Thursday, July 10 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Bradford's memory may be made to the First Parish Universalist Church Gifts and Memorials Fund, 790 Washington St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
