Betty Ann (Golden) Durkee, 67, died at home in Athol on Wednesday, September 4 after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Dennis L. Durkee. Born in Cambridge, she was educated in Boston schools. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 30 years before moving to Athol 5 years ago. Mrs. Durkee was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo, trips to Foxwoods, puzzles and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Durkee is survived by her children, Thomas J. Mahan and his wife Shari of Abington, Paul J. Mahan and his wife Lory of Athol and Kelly A. Gibson and her husband Brian of North Carolina. She was the grandmother of Corin, Meghan, Katelyn and Abigail Mahan, Anna and Bradley Gibson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 10 at 7 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 4-7 PM. A graveside service will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, High St., Canton on Wednesday, September 11 at 11 AM.
