Bette A. (Jordan) Bishop, 82, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Friday, July 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul S. "Boofy" Bishop. Daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Dykeman) Jordan, she was born in Boston and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1953. She also graduated from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. Bette was a registered nurse and supervisor at Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton and also worked for Dr. Weisner and Dr. Drew, both in Brockton. She served on the Stoughton Finance Committee and was a Town Meeting Representative. Bette enjoyed lunch with her former classmates and being a nurse to her family and friends, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Bette was the mother of Wendy Hines and her husband Michael, Paul Bishop and his wife Ann and Peter Bishop all of Stoughton, Michael Bishop and his wife Patty of East Bridgewater and the late Pamela Bishop. She was the sister of Charles Jordan and his wife Jean of Sandwich. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 18 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
