Bethia "Thea" Baillie, 91, a resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Monday, October 31, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Rev. John Baillie for 64 years. Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Thea was educated in Glasgow schools and graduated from a teaching college in Scotland. She was a resident of Brockton for the past 11 years after living in Bridgewater for 7 years and Stoughton for 25 years. Mrs. Baillie was active as the Pastor's Wife at Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton for over 18 years, where her husband John was the Pastor, until they retired in 1995. She also taught at Magic Carpet Kindergarten in West Bridgewater for 4 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, singing and playing the organ and piano.
In addition to her husband, Thea is survived by her daughters, Pauline R. Collins, Jacqueline A. Fenno and her husband Michael and Heather Joy Baillie all of Brockton and her son, John G. Baillie of Norton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Tiffany, Justin and Michael, Jr., as well as her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Caden, Jordan, Julian, Jayce, Jaxon and Katelyn and several nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 18 Stoughton St. on Friday, November 4 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours will be held at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
