Bernard Ben Mulligan

Bernard "Ben" Mulligan, 74, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of 41 years of Mary F. "Fanchea" (Hayes) Mulligan. Born in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim, Ireland, he was raised and educated in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. Mr. Mulligan came to the United States in 1962. He was a member of the Army National Guard for several years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 25 and worked as a Truck Driver for many years. He worked for several area firms, including Shulman, Yale, Shuster and Plymouth Rock Trucking. He retired in 2000. Mr. Mulligan was active at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton for several years and was a longtime friend of Bill W. In his free time he enjoyed watching sports, especially soccer and was a fan of Manchester United and Chelsea.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, James P. Mulligan of Randolph, Thomas F. Mulligan of Hyde Park, Mary J. Hanley of Stoughton, Evelyn C. Hedrick of AL and Patrick J. Mulligan, Helen Mulligan and Francis Mulligan all of Ireland. He was the brother of the late Collette Houlihan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 9:15 AM followed by a Memorial Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.
