Benjamin M. Latora, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, May 5. He was the husband of the late Elsie J. (Merrill) Latora. Born and educated in Quincy, he was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years. Mr. Latora was a shipfitter with the U.S. Navy Seabees and a veteran of World War II. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Braintree for many years. He also worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, as well as Shaw's Supermarket and the Goddard Hospital, both in Stoughton. He was a member of the Seabees Veteran's Club. An avid carpenter, he also enjoyed working around the house.
Mr. Latora is survived by his sons, Michael M. Latora of California and David C. Latora of Florida. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
