Barney F. "Manny" Barros, 71, a resident of Brockton, died unexpectedly at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, March 20. He was the husband of Marjorie S. (Marshman) Barros. Born in Wareham, he was a graduate of Wareham High School and Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. He was a resident of Brockton since 2003 after living in Roxbury for several years. Mr. Barros was a Security Guard at Franklin Park Zoo in Dorchester for 3 years after working Security at Harvard University for 5 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and painting.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Barros is survived by his children, Jason Townes of CA, Stephanie Spinney of Foxboro, Kim Marshman of W. Roxbury, Dannielle Marshman of Bridgewater, Toinette Westwater of Roslindale and Chrystal Marshman of Dorchester. Son of Madeline (Andrews) Fernandes of Dorchester and the late Louis Barros. Brother of Roger Andrews and Angela Fernandes both of Dorchester, June Sullivan of Boston and the late Richie, Bobbie, Louie and Mildred Barros. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 24 at 8 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 5-8 PM. Burial will be private.
