Barbara M. (Richardson) Perdigao, a resident of South Easton, previously of Stoughton, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Daniel Perdigao. Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late James B. Richardson and Geraldine M. (Carey) Richardson and was raised and educated in both Dorchester and Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School, Class of 1970. She went on to work at Morse Shoe in Canton for 25 years, then worked as a customer service representative for Medicare for over 20 years before retiring. Barbara enjoyed traveling with her husband Dan, especially to Las Vegas, New York, Canada and Cape Cod, taking road trips for the day and creating memories. An avid Boston sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Barbara is survived by her sisters Jean McSweeney and her husband Philip of Winthrop, Maine, Patricia Casey and her late husband John of Burlington, Mary Young and her husband William of Halifax, and her sister-in-law Margo Richardson of Milton, and was predeceased by her brothers, James Richardson, Jr., and Thomas Richardson. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Scott Perdigao and his wife Suzanne of Acushnet and Mark Perdigao and his wife Sara Thomason of Myrtle Beach, SC as well as her step-grandchildren, Noah Perdigao and Holly Perdigao. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday December 16th from 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM, followed by Graveside Prayers at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Easton immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s name may be to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate.
