Barbara A. Herr

Barbara A. (McCormack) Herr, 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center on Monday, January 2. She was the wife of 59 years of Thomas F. "Red" Herr. Born in Boston, she was educated in Boston and New York schools. She was a resident of Dorchester for 14 years before moving to Stoughton in 1967. Mrs. Herr was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo, trips to casinos, knitting and cooking.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Herr is survived by her children, Diane Carroll and her husband F. Russell of N. Attleboro, Karen Brennan and her late husband George and Thomas Herr and his wife Michelle all of Stoughton and Joanne Benner and her husband William, Jr. of East Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late John McCormack. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 5 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, donations in Barbara's memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
