Barbara A. (Maiuri) Cottam, 79, died Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Sturdy Hospial in Attleboro, surrounded by her devoted family. Born in Malden and daughter of Antoinetta and John Maiuri. She was a graduate of Malden schools. Barbara also attended business school. She was a resident of Norton for the past 8 years, previously living and raising her family in Stoughton for over 40 years. For over 30 years she was the administrative assistant to the chairman of the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at Northeastern University. Barbara enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, bowling, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a lover of old movies, especially the Wizard of Oz. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grand-dog Rocky.

Barbara was the mother of John A. Cottam of FL, Regina F. Aurelio of NH, Anna-Maria Ireland of Norton, Peter J. Cottam of Shrewsbury, Paul S. Cottam of Easton, and the late Theresa Cottam. She was predeceased by her brothers, Bernard, Henry and Peter Maiuri. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, 1 Power St., Norton on Thursday at 11AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday from 4-7PM.
