Barbara J. (Leonard) Chaperon, 59, died on Wednesday, July 8 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. Daughter of Elaine (Greenlaw) Leonard of Franklin and the late Robert W. Leonard, she was born in Melrose and educated at the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and Fontbonne Academy in Milton. Ms. Chaperon was a resident of Franklin for 4 years after living in Norwood for several years. She worked for TJX Company in Mansfield for 5 years before retiring in 2003.
In addition to her mother, Ms. Chaperon is survived by her sons, Toby C. Chaperon and his wife Regina and Ryan J. Chaperon all of Taunton, as well as her granddaughter, Alexis M. Chaperon. She was the sister of Dorothy Leonard of Springfield and Robert G. Leonard of RI. She was the longtime companion of Vyto Liutkus of Franklin. She was the former wife of the late William J. Chaperon. She is also survived by a niece, Shelley Chuplis and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 10 from 5-8 PM. Funeral will be private. Donations in Barbara's name may be made to Brigham & Women's Hospital, Attn: Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02116.
