Barbara J. (McBrien) Betts, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Manford "George" Betts. Daughter of the late Hugh B. and Madeline M. (Watson) McBrien, she was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury. She graduated from a Catholic high school in Jamaica Plain. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1959. Mrs. Betts was a homemaker. She enjoyed boating with her family.
Barbara is survived by her children, Kenneth G. Betts and his wife Zinta of Lakeville, Karen A. Anfield and her husband Bill of Brockton, Kevin M. Betts and his wife Debi of Punta Gorda, FL and Kimberly J. Betts and her fiancé Jay Kelly of Bluffton, SC. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters and is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 13 at 11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 12 PM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be private.
