Audrey H. Lander-O'Rourke

Audrey H. Lander-O’Rourke, 65, died Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton, after a short period of declining health. She was the wife of John E. O’Rourke. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical High School in Easton. She later graduated from Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Audrey was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and volunteering. For many years, Audrey would donate her hand crocheted blankets to cancer patients at Brockton Hospital to be used for comfort and warmth and recently received a certificate from the hospital recognizing her loyalty and dedication. Along with her husband John, she volunteered at the Brockton VFW where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to Foxwoods, but the thing that brought her the most joy was to be surrounded by her family and her beloved grandchildren.

In addition to her husband John, Audrey is survived by her three children, James F. O’Rourke and his wife Elena of RI, Bryan E. O’Rourke and his wife Sarah of OH and Ina P. Cheffro and her husband David of FL, formerly of Plymouth. She was the beloved “Nana Audrey” to 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and is also survived by her daughter-in-law Cynthia O’Rourke of Wrentham.

A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11 AM-12 PM followed by Funeral Prayers at 12 PM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2 PM.
