Ashiaa Laura Thompson, 60, of Worcester, MA, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 1, 2018. Born June 11, 1958 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Daisy and Harry B. Thompson, Jr. She was raised in Dorchester and Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School.
Dr. Thompson graduated from Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984 and owned the Ward Animal Clinic in Worcester where she provided excellent, compassionate care to the animals she so dearly loved for twenty-four years.
Taking daily walks and bicycle rides with her dogs, trips to the Arnold Arboretum on Lilac Sunday, gardening, and caring for her chickens, fish, and dogs were some of her favorite activities. She had an integral role in the growth and development of many of her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Adjectives to describe her are ageless, beautiful, hard-working, strong work ethic, genuine, funny, kind, independent, generous, loyal, modest, organized, reserved, compassionate, philanthropic, creative and a dedicated professional. She left an indelible footprint on the hearts of those she loved, and who loved her.
Surviving are five siblings, Harriet Thompson, Deborah Thompson Huntley (Hilton), Adrianne Chandler (Drew-deceased), Myric Crowell (Michael) and Harry B. Thompson III (Damita), her lifelong companion, partner and friend, Wayne Barrow, Uncle Bobby, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and her faithful dogs Eva and Cash. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Riley Thompson (Marian).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the celebration of her life at the Farley Funeral Home at 358 Park Street, Stoughton, MA on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
