Armenia "Gerry" (DaCosta) Figueiredo, 76, of Middleboro, formerly of Stoughton, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, passed on from this life to be with Our Lord on Friday, September 12, 2014, with her family by her side. Armenia was born on January 7, 1938 in Somerville, MA. She was preceded and is finally able to rejoin her beloved husband, Joseph Figueiredo, and their sons Edward and Joseph.
She is survived by her son, John Figueiredo of Brockton, her daughters, Joann Wood of Bridgewater and Susan Ray of New Bedford and her sister, Natalie Sears and her husband Ralph of Bridgewater. She was the grandmother of Joseph and Daniel Wood of Bridgewater, John and Miranda Figueiredo of Brockton, Joseph and Frank Figueiredo of Mansfield, Toni Lee Ray of Orlando, FL, Chelsie Ray of Bridgewater and Marissa and Andrew Castro of New Bedford. She was the great-grandmother of Malik and Maliyah Scarver of Orlando, FL. She was the aunt to several nieces and nephews, and was enriched by the many friends that she made on her journey through life.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 16 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
