Armand Rodrigues, 85, of Stoughton, passed away on April 10 at Good Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on November 26, 1932, the son of Alvaro and Mary Rodrigues. Armand was a lifelong resident of Stoughton, an avid gardener, and talented artist. He attended the School at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
He is survived by his brother, Vasco, of Stoughton and his sister, Delores Fitzgerald, of Kittery, Maine along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Ruth (Scavena), and his sisters Odette Hartnett and Maritta Corbett.
For many years, "Uncle" Armand was the quiet, kind, beloved and talented artist who captured the buildings and landscapes of his hometown through his artwork. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stoughton Public Library, 529 Washington St., Stoughton, MA 02072, which hosted Armand's artwork 2 years ago.
Services will be a private, family affair.
