Aphrodite (Chronopoulos) Alphonse, 87, a longtime resident of Brockton, died Saturday, November 23, 2019 after a period of declining health at the Alliance Health at West Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. Aphrodite, known to her friends and family as Aphie, was born in Boston, raised in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. Aphie was a beautician for over 50 years at a number of Brockton beauty salons before retiring 15 years ago. She was also an animal lover, she always had a pet to keep her company over the years, a few dogs but she truly loved her cats. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to pop and lite rock music, watching drama and suspense television shows and reading romance novels and legal thrillers.
Aphie was the third daughter of the late George and Theodora Chronopoulos of Greece. She was the wife of the late Harry Paul Alphonse of Brockton, MA and aunt/godmother of the late Denise (Pechonis) Tilton. Aphie is survived by her sister Thalia "Sally" Pechonis of Florida, nephews Matthew Pechonis of California and Daniel Pechonis of Texas and great-niece Alexandra Tilton of Florida. She will be missed by many close friends.
Funeral services were privately held.
