Antonio C. Serpa, 87, died Monday, October 29, 2018, one week after his 87th birthday, at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton. He was the husband of the late Agueda (Espirito Santo) Serpa. Born on the island of Pico in the Azores, he was raised and educated on the island of Flores in the Azores. Antonio was a Veteran of the Portuguese Army. He came to the States over 35 years ago and settled in Stoughton. Mr. Serpa worked at Cumberland Farms in Canton for over 10 years and retired several years ago. While living in Flores, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and hunting whales. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Serpa is survived by his children; Emilia Gomes and her husband Luciano and Joao Serpa all of Flores, Diodato Serpa and his wife Maria Jose Serpa of Stoughton, Jose Serpa and his wife Ana of Canada and Antonio Serpa and his wife Maria of Stoughton. He was predeceased by one brother and one sister. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday, October 30, from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
