Antonieta T. (Teixeira) Jardim, 94, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 27, 2019. She was the wife of the late Alfredo F. "Abel" Jardim. Daughter of the late Francisco and Maria Madalena (Coelho) Teixeira, she was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and raised in Madeira, Portugal. Antonieta was a resident of Stoughton since 1956. She was an assembler at Northrup in Norwood for many years. She was a member and Past President of the Portuguese National Club Women's Auxiliary in Stoughton. Antonieta was a longtime volunteer at the Our Lady of Fatima Feast at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She was involved in the art of Japanese Bunka and taught, competed and won awards for it.
Mrs. Jardim is survived by her children, Maria E. Mendonca and her husband Celestino and Arlindo T. Jardin all of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Kevin Mendonca and his wife Adrienne and great-grandmother of Jacob, Caleb and Clementine Mendonca. She was the sister of Conceicão DeAscensão and Maria Jose Sousa both of Stoughton and the late Maria Correia, Francisco Teixeira, Celina Barros, Jose I. Teixeira and Isaque Teixeira. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Monday, June 3 from 9-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM.
