Antone R. "Tony" Silva, 91, a resident of Mansfield, died peacefully at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton on Monday, May 28, 2018. He was the husband of the late Mary Beverly (Cabral) Silva. Son of the late Manuel and Mary Silva, he was born in Taunton and raised and educated in New York and Brockton. Tony was a Private in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of World War II. He was a resident of Stoughton for 50 years before moving to Mansfield 20 years ago. Tony worked as a shipper at FC Phillips in Stoughton for over 40 years before retiring 20 years ago. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his children, Antone R. "Tony" Silva, Jr. and his wife Evelyn of Middleboro, Linda J. Greene and her husband J. Russell of Easton, Marjorie Coakley and her husband William of California and Christine Sliney and her husband Kevin of North Carolina. He was the grandfather of Jeffrey Silva, Pamela Pittsley, Brian Greene, Jason, Kevin and Ryan Coakley and Kaylin and Tristan Sliney. Tony was the great grandfather of Shelby and Savanna Silva and Wendy Pittsley. He was predeceased by 1 brother and 3 sisters and is also survived bymany nieces and nephews.
