Anthony Tanzi

Anthony Tanzi, 92, a resident of Stoughton, died at Baypointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Monday, August 15. He was the husband of 70 years of the late Josephine R. (Giovanni) Tanzi. Born and educated in Italy, he was a resident of Hyde Park for many years before moving to Stoughton 17 years ago. Mr. Tanzi was a baker at Kasanoff Bakery and Ace Bakery both in Boston for many years. He then worked as a machinist at Grant Gear Works for 15 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Hyde Park High Flyers and the Dedham Retirement Club at Norwood Bowling Center.

Mr. Tanzi is survived by his children, James A. Tanzi and his wife Rosemary of Stoughton and Lorraine R. Goldstein and her husband Kenneth of Easton. He was the grandfather of Michele Blackwill, Jennifer and Leslie Tanzi. He was the great-grandfather of Zachery Nicholls and Alan Blackwill, Jr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, August 19 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 4-7 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008.
