Anthony M. Scipione, 84, of Middleboro, died peacefully at the Beth Israel Plymouth Medical Center on Saturday, December 7, 2019 after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Ann (Toomey) Scipione for over 60 years. Anthony was born in Boston, son of the late Antonio and Lucia (Puzo) Scipione. He was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and Wentworth University. Anthony served his country in the United States Army and later worked for over 30 years as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Anthony was an athletic person who played and coached baseball, hockey and football. He was also an avid golfer. Anthony enjoyed cooking delicious meals and loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his 7 grandchildren.
Anthony is survived by his children, Stephen Scipione and his wife Kalina of Arlington, Michael Scipione and his wife Susanne of Onset, Laura Harney and her husband Michael of Easton and Jeffrey Scipione and his wife Maria of West Roxbury. He was the grandfather of Jessica, Adam, Tori, Jared, Marissa, Nicole and Matthew. He was the brother of Michael Scipione and his wife Louise of Stoughton and the late Marie Boynton and Philomena Scipione. Anthony is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, December 11 at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 3-6 PM.
