Anthony R. "Tony" Grasso, 84, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the LifeCare Center of West Bridgewater after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Marion "Sis" (Kiley) Grasso. Born and raised in Readville, he was a graduate of St. Ann's High School in Readville. Mr. Grasso was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 30 years before retiring to Falmouth in 1987. Mr. Grasso was a longtime employee of the New York New Haven & Hartford Railroad, Penn Central Railroad, Conrail and Amtrak. He retired in 1987 after 44 years of service. He was a member of the United Transportation Union, NAVRE and the Falmouth Elks. In his free time, he enjoyed watching westerns, bargain shopping and traveling.
Mr. Grasso is survived by his two sons, Anthony R. Grasso Jr and his wife Alexandra of CT and John P. Grasso and his wife Sharon of East Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his daughter Rosanne M. Kennedy. He was the grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Alexandra and Angela Grasso and the great grandfather of Patrick and Karissa. He was the brother of Fred Grasso of Lynn and the late Patrick Grasso. He is also survived by his longtime companion Elaine Landolfi.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton on Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in his memory may be made to the Childrens Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave, Boston, 02115.
