Anne E. (Birtwistle) Silva, 73, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich after a long period of failing health. Born in Providence, RI, she was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Brockton. She was a resident of Sandwich for the past 7 years, previously living in Attleboro for 15 years and in Stoughton for many years. She worked as a Quality Control Inspector for the Foxboro Company for over 20 years, retiring at age 53. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, knitting and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her children; Judy A. McMahan and her husband William of Mashpee, Diane T. Harold and her husband Cornelius of Sandwich, John C. Silva and his wife Heather of Attleboro and Stephen J. Silva of Sandwich. She was the grandmother of Danielle, Kayla and Kevin McMahan, Christian, Justin and Nicholas Harold and McKayla, John and Jessica Silva. Mrs. Silva was the loving daughter of Maude E. (Burns) Birtwistle Cooke of Sandwich and the late Russel Birtwistle. She was the sister of Nancy Schofield of Mansfield, Patricia Mattson and husband Dennis of Bellingham, Elizabeth Holmes and husband Arnold of Sandwich, Russel Birtwistle and wife Janet of GA and John Birtwistle of MD and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 7 from 10:30-11:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 12 Noon.
