Anne P. (Bourque) McCormick, 45, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday, January 28, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a battle with cancer. She was the Loving Wife of G. Dennis McCormick. Born in Boston, she was raised in Hyde Park and was a graduate of St. Clare's High School in Roslindale. She was also a graduate of UMass-Boston. Mrs. McCormick worked as the Business Manager for St. Jerome's Church in Weymouth for several years. A talented singer, she also worked a Soloist at several area churches including St. James Church in Stoughton, and St. Francis of Assisi in Braintree. Mrs. McCormick previously worked as a Teachers Aide at the Dawe School in Stoughton. Anne was the President of Parents of Performing Students (P.O.P.S.) in Stoughton. She was a gifted musician who enjoyed playing piano and the guitar and traveling. In so many ways, Anne loved life, enjoyed the company of family and friends and was devoted to the happiness of her children, family and community.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved children, Sarah Anne McCormick, George Dennis McCormick II, Danielle Mary Margaret McCormick all of Stoughton. She was the daughter of Rita B. (O'Loughlin) Bourque of Hyde Park and the late Richard W. Bourque. She was the sister of Mary R. Petit and her husband Thomas of Braintree, Jeanne Bourque-Goding and her husband Lyman Goding of Sandwich, Robert J. Bourque and his wife Mary of Chelsea, Kathleen M. Twerago and her husband Jeffrey of Stoughton, John F. Bourque and his wife Maria of West Roxbury and the late Richard W. Bourque, Jr. and Kevin J. Bourque. She was the sister in law of Judith Bourque of Hyde Park and Ellen Bourque of West Roxbury. Anne is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, February 1, at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday January 31, from 2-6 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the McCormick Children's Education Fund, PO Box 93, Stoughton, MA 02072.
