Anne M. (Peters) Feely, a longtime resident of Stoughton, age 73, passed away on September 13, 2024, at the Boston Medical Center. She was the dear wife of John J. Feely for 50 loving years. Born, raised and educated in Boston, she was the daughter of the late George Peters and Grace (Murphy) Peters, and was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston, Class of 1968. She and her husband John met at age 17, when he was part of the St. Kevin’s Drum and Bugle Corps, and she was a member of the Color guard, where they immediately formed a bond and connection and got married in 1974. The two of them started their lives together, raising their family in Stoughton and residing in the town for 47 years. Anne attended Boston Business School for two years earning her Associate’s Degree, and went on to work as a legal secretary at Dolbec and McGrath out of Quincy and Boston for over 50 years before retiring at the end of 2023 at age 72. She and John regularly went to Eastover in Lennox with a group of friends as an annual tradition, where they would make countless memories. Every year, she would always make it a point to book a family vacation ever since her children were little. She enjoyed shopping, trivia nights and scavenger hunts with her girlfriends, and could always be found at her children’s sporting events when they were younger as their biggest cheerleader and supporter. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband John, Anne is survived by her children Brian Feely of Abington, and Kristin Feely and her husband Matthew Kelly of Abington, as well as her daughter-in-law Carolyn Feely of Hanover. She was “Nana Anne” to Andrew, Grace, and Sebastian Feely, and was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Peters. She also leaves behind her longtime best friend of over 50 years, Joanne Brissenden, as well as 2 sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and many other dear friends.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday September 23rd from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held the next day, Tuesday September 24th at the funeral home, at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM.
