Anna M. (Foley) O’Donnell, age 83, passed away peacefully at the Charlwell House in Norwood on February 7, 2024. She was the loving wife to the late Joseph P. O’Donnell for 40 years before his passing in 2010. Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter to the late Albert and Anna (Kelly) Foley, and was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1957. She worked as a bookkeeper at Boston Gas Company in the credit department for 17 years. She then went on to work at Stoughton Public Schools in the cafeteria for many years, and before retiring worked at the Stoughton Public Library cleaning books. She was very social within her work environment and made many friends during that time. She enjoyed going to the casino, going out to eat, and was a skilled bowler. She was always up for a party, and was, without fail, the last one to leave. She took great joy in sitting in her yard and playing ball with her furry friend Sunny. She will be greatly missed.
Anna is survived by her daughter Kelly O’Donnell of Stoughton, and was a second mother to Jennifer Helvitz and Jennifer Gilmore, both of Stoughton. She was preceded in death by her brothers Albert and John Foley. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27) Stoughton, on Thursday February 15th from 4-7 PM. Funeral will be held the next day, Friday February 16th at the funeral home, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or at https://www.heart.org/
