Ann M. (Hines) Fidler, 94, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Fidler, daughter of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Quealy) Hines. She was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. Ann was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls, Class of 1944. She resided in Stoughton since 1965 and was a teacher's aide with Stoughton Public Schools, working with Special Needs children for over 30 years before retiring at the age of 85. In 2003, Ann received a Distinguished Service Recognition Award from the Norfolk County Teachers Association for outstanding support and interest in public education. Ann was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and enjoyed being a member of a weekly Rosary group with friends for many years. She enjoyed watching "Going My Way" with Fr. Chris Hickey on Catholic Television. Ann also enjoyed baking and monthly luncheons with her former teaching colleagues, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Ann is survived by her children, John A. Fidler and his wife Maria and Jane P. Fidler-Watkins and her husband James Watkins all of Taunton. She was the sister of the late Francis J. Hines and is also survived by her close companion and granddog, Maxwell.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, November 30 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday, November 29 from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne immediately after the Mass.
