Ana (Freitas) Velho, 65, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, April 21, at her home, (unexpectedly/after a battle with cancer and period of declining health). Born on the island of Pico, Azores, Portugal, she moved to the island of Flores as an infant and was raised and educated in Flores. In 1976, she married Jose M. Velho and together they raised their beloved son Manuel, in Stoughton, MA; Jose died in 2006. She worked as a Circuit Assembler for Raytheon in Andover and Marlboro for over 26 years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the IBEW Local 1505 in Woburn for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Ana is survived by her son Manuel F. Velho and his wife Tara of NJ and her grandchildren; Avery, Joseph, Hadley and Jack Velho. She was the sister of Maria O'Neill of FL, Abilio Freitas of Canada and Clarisse Freitas of Portugal. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
