Ana A. (Fortuna) Faria, 84, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Manuel Faria. Born in Portuguese Islands of the Azores, on the island of Faial, she was raised and educated on Faial and lived there until coming to the United States. Mrs. Faria came to the States in 1959 and settled in Stoughton, where she had lived since. She worked at Corcoran Shoe and Shawmut Mills in Stoughton for several years and was a dedicated homemaker, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Isauro M. Santos and his girlfriend Kathleen Arndt of Mansfield and Paul G. Faria and his wife Nichol of Brockton. She was the grandmother of Kayla Santos, Brian Santos, Drew Faria and Dylan Faria. She was the sister of the late Manuel Fortuna, Antonio Fortuna, Jose Fortuna, Maria Amelia Tomaz and Rose Vargas. She is also survived by her former daughter in law Elaine Santos and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
