Alvaro D. Ventura

Alvaro D. Ventura, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at his home in Stoughton on Saturday, February 3, 2018. He was the husband of the late Lucia M. (Teixeira) Ventura. Son of the late Alvaro and Maria E. (Sousa) Ventura, he was born and raised in Terceira, Azores, Portugal. He resided in Stoughton for over 50 years. Alvaro worked at Plymouth Rubber in Canton for many years then at Thermafelt in Canton for several years before retiring at age 62. He was a longtime member of Clube Luis De Camoes in Stoughton. He enjoyed gardening and sports.

Alvaro was the brother of Maria F. Laureano of Stoughton and the late Carmelinda Butler, Fernanda DeRanger, Maria D. Rodrigues, Rose Lopes, Emilia Ventura, Luis Ventura and Manuel Ventura. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Thursday, February 8 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
