Allen B. Morse, Jr., 89, a resident of East Bridgewater, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Milton on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was the husband of Lois (West) Morse. Born in Everett, he was raised and educated in Kennebunk, ME. He resided in Kankakee, IL for 35 years before living in Randolph for 15 years and East Bridgewater for the past 16 years. Allen was a Carpenter's Mate 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy and served with the SeaBees in World War II. He was a Supervisor of Electrical Maintenance for Roper Appliance in Chicago, IL for 35 years before retiring in 1983. Mr. Morse was very active at Trinity Episcopal Church in Bridgewater. He was a Mason for 67 years and was a member of the Bridgewater Lodge, York Lodge in Kennebunk and the Medinah Shriners of Chicago. He was also a member of the American Legion in Randolph.
In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by his children, Karen M. Gallagher and her husband Thomas of Lexington and Stephen A. Morse and his wife Christine of Whitman, as well as his grandchildren, Emily and James Gallagher and Michael, Nathan and Savannah Morse. He was the brother of Warren Morse and his wife Kathy of Epping, NH and Dana Morse and his wife Patricia of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Main St., Bridgewater, MA 02324 on Tuesday, May 31 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday from 3-6 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allen's memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, address above or the Cardinal Cushing Centers, 405 Washington St., Hanover, MA 02339.
