Allan P. "Peter" MacEachern, 86, a longtime resident of Brockton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Friday, June 16, 2017. He was the husband of Barbara M. (Murphy) MacEachern for 59 years. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. He also attended Boston College. He resided in Brockton since 1962. Peter was a salesman for R.G. Mearn Company in Dorchester for 32 years before retiring in 1999. He volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Brockton for many years. Peter was active with Boy Scout Troop 5 in Brockton for many years and enjoyed working in his yard.
In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by his children, Robert J. MacEachern and his wife Kathy of Stoughton, Allan P. MacEachern, Jr. and his husband John of Quincy, Carol A. Pilkington and her husband Peter of East Bridgewater, Mary E. Knapp and her husband Douglas of Raynham and Joseph F. MacEachern and his wife Elaine of Middleboro, as well as his grandchildren, Colleen and her husband Dave, Neil, Erin, Sean, Christopher and Bryan and his great-granddaughter, Layla. He was the son of the late James and Catherine MacEachern and the brother of James A. MacEachern of Braintree and the late Brother Xavier MacEachern, O.Carm. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, June 21 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Edith Stein Church, Brockton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
