Alice I. Shea, 62, died unexpectedly at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, January 29. She was the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Catherine M. (Connolly) Shea. Born in Brighton, she was a lifelong resident of Stoughton. Miss Shea was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1962. She was a Supervisor in the Actuary Evaluation Department of John Hancock Insurance Co. in Boston for 35 years before retiring 10 years ago. An all-star athlete in high school, she was an avid sports fan who loved the Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed attending the Kentucky Derby annually as well as summering in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Miss Shea is survived by her siblings, Frederick H. Shea, Jr. and his wife Karen of Brockton, Michael J. Shea and his wife Rosemary of Middletown, CT, Kathy A. Welch and Paul Shea and his wife Mary all of Stoughton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, February 2 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice's name may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
