Alice E. (Thomas) Gomes, 78 years of Brockton, beloved wife of Peter Gomes for 57 years, entered into rest January 5, 2009 at the home of her niece Kimberly Wilson who cared for her with much love and kindness while she was under hospice care.
She was the daughter of the late Orwell Thomas and Alice (Godsoe) Thomas. She was also the daughter of Evelyn Thomas who raised her.
Alice was very much the family historian and loved telling family stories. She will be the aunt that her many nieces and nephews will remember fondly. One of her many enjoyments was visiting Foxwoods.
She is survived by her husband Peter, sons Mark and William of Brockton, and a granddaughter Dawn. She was the loving sister of Katherine Picchione of Halifax and William Thomas of Arlington and sister to the late Lorraine Travers, Shirley Cort and Constance Duff.
Following cremation, family and friends invited to attend committal services at the National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
