Alfred N. Wilson, 87, died Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Washington, DC, he was raised in Stoughton and Washington, DC and was a graduate of Spingarn High School in Washington, DC. He also attended Northeastern University. Al proudly served in the US Army and was Honorably Discharge after over 2 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime resident of Stoughton and was the owner and founder of the Alwil Company, based in Stoughton, and worked as a general contractor for many years. He retired several years ago. A talented jazz musician, he excelled at the organ and piano and for several years he played in various area jazz bands throughout the Boston area. In addition to his music, Al loved classic cars and, as a gifted mechanic, he enjoyed working on cars. He will be missed by family and friends for his thoughtful conversations and warm personality.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his beloved son, Alfred N. Wilson, Jr. of Washington, DC and his granddaughter Danya’ M. Williams. He was the stepbrother of Michael Wilson of Washington, DC and Brian “Ricky” Wilson and Pamela Wilson both of MD. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Visiting Hour will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 10:30-11:30 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:45PM.
